For Lunchtime today, I'll be packing some chili from a batch made a week ago. It's been cold, dreary and rainy here the past couple days. In other words, a perfect day for a bowl of chili.
Ours is pretty basic with meat, beans, and noodles, and sometimes cornmeal for an extra thick variety. Yummmm. Add some fresh-baked bread and you have some real comfort food.
Do you have a favorite chili recipe you enjoy? Or a favorite comfort food?
Current Gigging -
One thing about working as solely a recording project is not playing out very much. So around 4 years back I hooked with an outfit that ONLY plays out, lol. That's called Dr. Chows Love Medicine, and we get pretty regular work. Mostly bars and small clubs, street festivals and the like. We're all in it for fun at this point, and we do a pretty wide range of covers along with originals.
I believe being in this band has helped my playing too, almost forcing me to be more versatile and to work on getting the right sounds for the songs.
Parts Guitars -
A couple years back, a Cavalier body fell into my hands, and I began to seek out parts to put something together out of it. Here it is today, with the recent add of a NOS pickup in the bridge slot.

I've seen the angled-offset MFD described as too bright. In this guitar it sounds really cool, rich and kind of creamy in the middle with a nice chime on the top end and plenty of low end. Looking forward to hear how it sounds with the band. A new weapon in the tone arsenal, TY flea-bay!
G&L Question:
Since I know what you like in a new geet, what would you put together using ONLY G&L parts? One rule - No Routers Allowed!
I'm fairly brief today, as I found out this morning there's a cracked rim on the car that was causing the tire to lose air, so I'm scrambling to deal with that. Stupid potholes! Grrrr
Tune in tomorrow, turkey will be involved...
