Hi, I have an ASAT special clear finish, maple neck and fret board. How do I tell what the body is made of. I think it is either Swamp Ash or Alder. It is a 1994 model, 3 screw neck serial number G036028. Bought it in Sydney in June 1994. I cannot believe it is almost 21 years old. I will have to throw it a party!

Usually burst or natural finishes are swamp ash bodies and solid colours use alder.

I have a USA ASAT Classic S in Honey Blonde and it is a Swamp Ash body. It was made in December of 2013.Rog58 wrote:Hi, I have an ASAT special clear finish, maple neck and fret board. Just to clarify this statement;SouthpawGuy wrote:Usually burst or natural finishes are swamp ash bodies and solid colours use alder.
.Alder on standard and all solid finishes, Swamp Ash on all Premier finishes
See this list of all current finishes: http://www.guitarsbyleo.com/FORUM/viewt ... 512#p81512.
Hope this helps.
