Info about my ASAT Special

Post by Rog58 »

Hi, I have an ASAT special clear finish, maple neck and fret board. How do I tell what the body is made of. I think it is either Swamp Ash or Alder. It is a 1994 model, 3 screw neck serial number G036028. Bought it in Sydney in June 1994. I cannot believe it is almost 21 years old. I will have to throw it a party!

Camera just went flat. Will load picture soon :(

Usually burst or natural finishes are swamp ash bodies and solid colours use alder.

I have a USA ASAT Classic S in Honey Blonde and it is a Swamp Ash body. It was made in December of 2013.

Just to clarify this statement;
Alder on standard and all solid finishes, Swamp Ash on all Premier finishes
.

See this list of all current finishes: http://www.guitarsbyleo.com/FORUM/viewt ... 512#p81512.

Hope this helps.
