The finish is satin frost on Fullerton Red. I had a feeling that the vintagey colours would look cool with this finish so took a chance and ordered one. I hadn’t seen a satin frost finish on a non-metallic colour, but it came out looking and feeling exactly like I wanted it to. Matte, and super tactile. Seems thinner than usual too. Strangely, the girlfriend doesn’t like it one bit, I thought that being red it would have girl appeal. The purchase of this instrument caused a major poop-storm, so that probably has something to do with it. I don’t want to go through that again so this will have to be my last major purchase for a while…
I'm not a bass player, so can't really comment on how it compares to other stuff on the market, but it plays very nicely and sounds fantastic through my 100W Twin clone with a locally made 410 cab. It's lightweight, 8.97lbs. This one has a quarter-sawn, #8 (J-type) neck. The rosewood on the fingerboard is a very nice, dark piece.

Marvelous pieces of hardware. Surely it doesn’t get much better than what’s on this.
