Very nice indeed. The color is a good match for your part of the country as well. Enjoy!

Love the feel of the ebony board on my blueburst ASAT.
They also look great offsetting the black edges of the burst finish and the black pickguard and hardware--Great combination.

In the same vain as everybody above, if your S-500 only sounds half as good as it looks, you're ahead of the curve already ... Oh wait, it is an instrument. If it sounds exceedingly good, who gives a darn how it looks!
Congrats!

Re: My new USA S-500
Thanks all. I'm very happy with it. Blarg: I converted to ebony fingerboards a while ago with my '90 Strat Ultra. Nice hard and smooth, plenty of spank like maple. I much prefer it to rosewood. Helps that it's an awesome looking wood too. Belgianlefty/fumblefingers: I had the expansion mini-toggle replaced with a push-pull on the treble knob. Much cleaner look that way, and no tiny switch to get in the way. Yowhatsshakin: I tried out USA S500s in the shop before ordering this one, so I knew what the pickups would be like. But the tone really shines through, imo, with the ebony fingerboard and quartersawn maple neck. Thing's got sustain out to >here<. It's already replaced the Ultra as my primary axe.
