ASAT Semi-Hollow

Post by bikegerm »

I'm new to the G&L world. I'm interested in trying to determine the difference between a G&L ASAT Classic Semi-Hollow Body vs a G&L USA Made ASAT Classic Fullerton Semi Hollow Body . Is one made in the USA and one in China ?

And none are made in China. The Tributes are made in Indonesia at the Cort factory.

I'm guessing that the 'Fullerton' has been added to the model name by the seller, Fullerton being the area in which the G&L factory is located. As long as it doesn't say 'Tribute' on the headstock it's an American instrument.

See:
Serial number significance
What is the new Tribute series which G&L announced in 2003?
Why the change in manufacturing location for the Tributes?
G&L Tributes made in China?

BTW, all these posts are in the G&L Knowledgebase.

Hope this helps.

Craig, wasn't there a Fullerton Standard Series a few years back? Not sure they did ASATs, but I remember they did a slightly less expensive, solid color Legacy.

And there is also a company that builds budget guitars under the "Fullerton" label. Not G&L.

Bill,

You remember correctly. There was the Fullerton Standard Series models from 2006-2008.
There were two models: Legacy Standard and Invader XL Standard.

Here's a link to each spec page: Legacy Standard and Invader XL Standard.
Here some info about them: http://guitarsbyleo.com/FORUM/viewtopic ... 391#p20391.
If they did any ASAT Standard models, they never let me know (I was also maintaining the main website at that time) and so they never were added to the instruments pages.
