All the ASATs can be chambered if they are semi-hollow - like a Thinline tele - otherwise they're totally solid.

I bought an ASAT special semi-hollow last year, and it's a great, great instrument. Highly recommended!

And I believe that when SH, the f-hole is optional. But you'll need to explicitly specify that otherwise it comes by default.

I know I shouldn't discuss the actual cost of things, but can I mention that omitting the f-hole from a semi-hollow is a $0 option? It's well worth considering if you are looking for a lighter guitar and don't like the look of f-holes on an ASAT (I don't )yowhatsshakin wrote:And I believe that when SH, the f-hole is optional. just hope this doesn't happen without the f-hole.

D'oh! How about a small, discrete hole in the back of semi-hollow guitars lacking f-holes, just for pressure equalization?

It was never determined what caused his body's top to separate like that and AFAIK it has never happened again. I have several Semi-Hollow bodies withoutLiquidSmoke wrote:D'oh! How about a small, discrete hole in the back of semi-hollow guitars lacking f-holes, just for pressure equalization?
the f-hole and would not hesitate ordering another.

Re: Asat Chambered ?
the only thing that could have caused it was pressure. john at the time would not listen, he kept telling me that it was old damage because by the time he got it, there was a lot of dirt around the edges. but i told him, it happened 2 days before he got it, but i played it at a blues festival after it blew up, the day before he got it, and i was wearing quite a bit of sunblock that day, the dirt and oil happened then. i sent john the photos that were taken the day of the damage, which was friday (he got the guitar monday), and he kept saying, "i don't know, that's a lot of dirt build up". he was a little slow and dense, i simply could not get it through to him.Craig wrote:It was never determined what caused his body's top to separate like that and AFAIK it has never happened again.
