Hey ChinoGee,

That is one amazing looking ASAT. It looks brand new! What a great colour combo.

That is a great ASAT, it is indeed Special. G&L has added and removed the 'Special' from headstock a couple of times, the dates escape me right now.

Nope, I don't believe they ever had an ASAT Special decal on the headstock.
See: List of Regular Production ASAT-style guitars.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Scott!

Actually, when I saw this guitar, I loved first his look, I love this colour combo. I loved the blonde finish: it's a bit transparent, we can see the wood (swamp ash) through. I love the contrast between the blonde finish and the black hardware. The time has colored the neck, and I love the look of the big MFD pickups. :luv:

And it was in fantastic condition with absolutely no marks!!! But I didn't know G&L guitars, I was just hooked by his look. So I made some researchs, and I found the USA made G&L was really great, so finally, I bought this ASAT, and I don't regret it.

Thanks guys, I love it! I didn't really know G&l guitars when I've seen it, it's the look which first appealed me, I love the black hardware on the swamp ash.

Then, I felt in love with the sound!

Thnaks!

It's a great guitar, bought second hand with no scratchs (except on the pickguard), no dents.

I love the color combo, the big MFD, the swamp ash, and the building quality is top notch. Pretty heavy guitar, but great sound. :luv:

I love this era in G&l guitars.
