The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.
FACTORY INSIDER -- "Not Your Father's G&L" ... Just wanted to put up a photo of a very cool Invader XL that came through the factory yesterday. It's black satin, ebony fingerboard with no face dots, black satin headstock and a set of EMG pickups. This guitar looked loud just sitting in the case. We plugged it into the Marshall JCM 800 we have in the back room and holy ^#%$*& did this thing rock. We will keep posting these unique instruments as they come through the shop so everyone can see and enjoy some of our efforts.
Awesome! I just found this forum and am the owner of this exact guitar for about 6 months. When I found it for sale I thought it was exactly as if I would have custom ordered it myself. I have been playing a '85 G&L Broadcaster with active Bartolini's for almost twenty years and this new guitar with emgs and being more like a strat is really nice. OK, my question is I've been reading about neck profiles as I was sure the invader neck felt bigger so I bought a cheap set of digital calipers and yes the neck width is the wider 1 11/16" although on both copies of the "Custom Build Specifications" document it claims to have a #1a Slim C 1 5/8" nut. This must be a misprint. I believe it's probably the "wide C" profile as it feels wider and thicker than the broadcaster. I am still reallly happy with it and have gotten use to having more finger room now. Could anyone verify my claim? If so thanks a bunch!

The #3 neck is the stock neck on the Invader XL. The Custom Build Specifications was mis-entered
for the neck. You should be able to get corrected sheets by emailing Chris Robosan at repairs@glguitars.com.
Include the Model name, Serial Number and that your guitar has the #3 neck profile. And of course,
include your name and mailing address. He will sent you corrected copies.
I have a F-100 in satin black, but I added white body and neck binding to set it of a bit more, looks amazing. EMG 85 in the bridge, 81 in the neck. Drop D tuning, ready to rock
