Yup a good time for it, and after spending the lass 24 hours with it I've got to say... it is everything I have hoped it to be!
The neck feels like home, the finish like glass (and by now fingerprint coated) the tuners precision incarnate and the pickups? exactly the way they would sound in my head.
this goes out to all the lurkers out there on the fence, don't think twice it is so worth it.
and now without further ado, the blow by blow and guitar porn....
The package as it has arrived...
Wots all this then? (images of shifted and cracked necks come to mind.)
one layer of shock obsorbing packaging material later... ("a box whithin a box? boxception!" or "I heard you liked unboxing so I put a box in your box so you could unbox while you unbox.")
At last! the legendary G&G case, a veritable tank.
Not only did my G&L come in but looks like the fine folks at PGS threw in some birthday gifts as well, special thanks to Chris Larson for being so awesome!
I love the grain! wavy and porous looking, the pics don't do it justice. I could get lost in this finish.
A close up of the black painted headstock, when I was researching G&Ls one thing I wished was to see a good close up of the painted headstocks.
Two shots of my CV50 and my new ASAT, got a Tascam TC-1S there, solar powered and charges from unnatural lighting like florescents... Infinite POWER!
another shot for the researchers/lurkers. the height of the strings from the PuPs in relation to everything as well as what the knobs look like.
then neck is insanely figured! Knotty Knotty neck and the satin finish feels so organic. also having seen the serial number plate in person. it is so small and in such an out of place area I don't see any problem with it.
the hang tags, any takers on translating?
