Re: Pickup height
Is that with the string fretted at the 12th or 22nd fret?

Re: Pickup height
Thanks for the update on the reference post Craig, although I think we've been around this issue before, and the considered opinion was that the recommended pickup height is just a 'starter for 10'. Individual players will experiment with pickup heights to suit their ears. I know I certainly like to experiment a bit.Craig wrote:Fretted at the 22nd fret (I have updated the reference post).tedkirkendall wrote:Is that with the string fretted at the 12th or 22nd fret?

Re: Pickup height
If it is ok to jump in on a thread ............. I have a pickup height question. I realize there are measurement guidelines but I am wondering about pickup height adjustment.
For example, my ASAT Special neck pickup is a fantastic pickup but can muddy up a little on some amp settings. Is this because the pickup is to high or too low?

Re: Pickup height
I would suggest that you try different heights and see what works best for you.darylb wrote:If it is ok to jump in on a thread ............. I have a pickup height question. I realize there are measurement guidelines but I am wondering about pickup height adjustment.

Like Steve says: "It's one of those adjustments that can easily be changed if someone wants to hear the difference
with the pickups a little closer or a little further from the strings."
Hope this helps.
