asat classic pickguard

Post by rpjones »

Will the pickguard for a Tribute Series Asat Classic fit an American made Asat Classic? I have a 94 USA and have found a pickguard on ebay that I like. Will the Tribute fit my guitar?

I don't think they are interchangeable:

US ASAT Classic:

Tribute ASAT Classic:

Note the location of the neck pickup and the pickguard screws.

Hope this helps.

I never realized the pickups were spaced differently on the Tributes. Is there a reason for that?
Are there also differences on the other models?

No idea why. I'll try and find out next week.
Nope, that's the only one I know of that is different.

The reason is that the factory where the Tribute Series are built already had standard setup for Telecasters and G&L choose to use it as is.
