serial is : B001008 , I was wondering if a 1980 or 81 , not sure, also, and most of all, how much is it worth ?

Hi axe-z,

I'm a bit confused. The first 5-string bass, the short lived L-5000, was only released at the end of the '80s. The L-2500 came about in the early '90s. So I have to guess that you are talking about an early L-2000, a 4-string bass. Assuming that is the case, an L-200 in excellent condition goes for around $1,000-$1,200 nowadays.

Cool 5 string,
The serial numbers on the 6 bolt square plates didn't quite fit in with the earlier schemes.
I'd guess '93-95 as a year. As for value, I think it would sell for between 750-950.
Here's a pic from your auction so there's no confusion with the earlier serial # schemes
during discussions here.

The L-2500 started production in 1996. See this post in our G&L Knowledgebase: Production List of G&L Instruments (USA).
I would guess that yours was built in 1996 or '97. See: Serial number significance.
You can also see a list of the L-2500's registered in our G&L Registry and several have the B0xxxxx serial number format.
