Has been parting out tributes and selling the bridges as USA models. When I pointed out to him that they were not the same metals, he didn't care, he's still going to lie about it. FWIW, also, he has this on a listing for a Duncan JB: "the JB™ is wound with 42 AWG enamel-coated copper wire like the original Gibson PAF humbuckers—but lots more of it, a whopping DC resistance reading of 17.8K ohms". If he had a clue what he was talking about, he'd know a JB was 44ga wire and you can't even fit 17k of 42ga on the bobbins; about 10k at most.
I don't know whether this guys is just an idiot or unethical or what, but even though G&L parts are hard to come by, I'd avoid him.

Re: PSA: rt1sales on ebay.........
I have purchased a few things from him with no issues, one to show up in LR this week, but thanks for more info on his MO. Always remember buyer ask questions and beware.
I wonder if anyone has been successful with returning anything missrepresented and how does the ebay buyer protection work here?

Most people wouldn't know the difference between a trib and USA bridge, they look the same. I'm guessing not. But even after I clued him in that they weren't the same, his response was basically a rude FU.

I actually talked to him about the same thing via e-bay messages.
I provided him links to here where the different metals issue was discussed but then he quit responding.

Bought a neck from him recently which was a Tribute neck and was advertised correctly. Had zero issues with him or the neck, but I don't need the neck anymore. I think you are right about the bridges and tuners. These are not advertised coming off a tribute.

Well, he's an idiot about pickups for sure. It still amazes me that folks rely on the DC impedance as the judge of a pickup.

Re: PSA: rt1sales on ebay.........
Well, I wrote to rt1sales trying to find an original G&L string lock mechanism for an '84 to '89 (maybe more years..) Kahler equipped guitar. Actually, I only need the part that permanently screws to the guitar. I TOTALLY appreciate your bringing possible improprieties info for rt1sales. But, I figure it will be hard for him to fake these parts. If you ever come across one of these generally undesirable factory string locks, please contact me.
Thanks!

Re: PSA: rt1sales on ebay.........
I know he likes using an account for shill bidding his eBay auctions, and doesn't try too hard to hide it. Here's his favorite:
Not that people don't sometimes have their favorite shops on eBay and all, but this guy was there for both items I wanted totally unrelated. Looking back you see this guy leaving feedback for items only to see the same things listed and sold later. This is RT1 Music and Guitar Shop in Connecticut.
Anyway after catching it I searched rt1sales to see if there were any problems and found this. Appreciate you guys trying to put the word out so I'll just tack this on for anyone else searching on Google to check them out. rt1sales = shady, scam, ripoff (etc).
And yes I am slightly butthurt over not winning my auction. Now I have closure lol. Take care everybody
