My Spruce top PRS Hollowbody and spruce top Hamer are excellent sounding guitars. That got me to thinking if G&L had ever tried putting a spruce top on an ASAT hollowbody. I'd really be interested in hearing an ASAT Hollowbody:
- mahogany body
- mahogany neck
- spruce top (two-tone burst)
- Large MFD pickups
- 12" radius on the nect
- Ebony or rosewood fingerboard
- powdered coated black aluminum pickguard , control plate, knobs, and tuning keys
- body and neck binding

I have Benedict with a semi-hollow strat body that's made with spruce. It has good tone and a light weight body.
I think it would make a nice body wood option once people learn the pros.

Ikes! Spruce is soft. Granted they use it on acoustics but in general I think electrics take more abuse than acoustics. However Fender is now making a pine Squire Tele, so maybe your on to something.
