The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

S-500 - LEGACY Pickguard Compatible?

Post by Greenblues »

Took the train to Tokyo Tuesday to try and get some felt-washers from the current distributor here in Japan, Kurosawa Gakki. They guy told me in a very round about way that the could not accomodate this request by telling me to call their head office. I already had, and they had directed me to one of their retail vendors... :mad0025:

While I was browsing the selection in the shop, I spotted a bunch of sexy 3-ply replacement pickguards for S-500s hanging on the wall. It looks like they are selling them (at about $100 each  ) so guys/girls can cosmetically customize their axe.

I've actually wanted to replace the pickguard on my Legacy for a while now, but are the S-500 pickguards compatible? Mind you, I'm sure I'd find something to do with that extra hole for the toggle switch.

I can't say about the Tribute series.
But my USA 2011 S-500 has a Legacy metal pickguard that fits perfectly. When I had my S-500 built, I asked to remove the mini toggle switch and move the control to a push-pull volume knob.

Cheers, mate. I guess it wouldn't hurt to check with guy in the store, too.
