G&L, Climax Hum-bucking Pickups?

Post by Sprinter 92 »

Who made the hum-bucking pickups that were used in the Climax series? I looked at the pickup list that is posted on this website and the Climax pickup isn't listed.

See this post in the G&L Knowledgebase: Climax Pickups and body wood?

I'll have to update the List of pickups used in G&L guitars.

Thank you, Craig! The pickups I have use three pickup mounting screws so I assume they were made by Gotoh? I have an experimental/prototype Asat Deluxe that was built in early 1995. It has these pickups with three mini-toggle switches. The guitar is considerably different from the production model Asat Deluxe that came out in 1996.

You are welcome. I'd love to see a photo of your ASAT Deluxe, can you post one?

Thanks.

Where did you find this one and do you know it's history? Is it a factory proto or an employee built one?
Tell us what the three toggle switches do (pickup on/off, pickup on/off, coil splitter (bridge only or both) or ?

Definitely an interesting ASAT Deluxe.

Thanks for posting the photos.
