I kinda stumbled across a poorly advertised ebay auction a couple of days ago and the more I looked at it, the more I convinced myself that I was looking at a G&L body from the 80s. The auction owner listed it as a "unknown" body and maybe thought it was homemade. Regardless, I took a chance and won the auction for a crazy cheap price.
In my opinon, I think the body in question might be a old Invader. Things like the 3 bolt pattern, pickup route, control cavity, and date stamp really seem to point at the body being the real deal. But I'm no expert when it comes to G&L's history. Ask me about Kramer's sorted history and you'll get an earfull...G&L, not so much

I'd love the opinions of some experts here. While I have always admired G&L, I've never really had a chance to own a model that made sense for me. I've always liked the Rampage, but good luck finding a lefty. And come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a Kahler routed lefty Invader either....
Anyway, check out the link and let me know what you think. Did I crap out on a homemade body, am I on to something fairly cool and rare? Regardless it'll make a interesting restoration project.

Now tracking down a neck that'll fit the infamous G&L neck joint.....no problem!
