Used price for Asat Deluxe???

Post by drjordan »

Hey again. It's been a while since I posted...I just saw the new site. Looks great.

My main guitar is an Asat Classic that I love. I found a used Asat Deluxe that I'm considering as a backup guitar, but I don't want to overpay. The only Deluxe that I found in the marketplace was a "1 of 100" guitar so the price of that one is surely more than just a normal Deluxe. What price range should expect to pay for one of these on the used market?

Thanks for any help,
Jordan

Used Asat Deluxe's are usually in the $700 to $900 price range. The early three bolt versions may be worth a little more. Is the guitar you saw online in Kansas? If it is, I played it a few days ago and it's nice!

No, I found one in Chicago. What site is the one in Kansas listed on?

Thanks for your reply.

I just replied to your other post. In addition to what I said there, you can get a rough idea of the date from close serial numbers in the Registry. That is far from an exact method, though. For example: I have two ASATs that left the factory within a couple of weeks of each other in '86, but the serial numbers are several thousand apart.

Judging by your Marketplace ad, yours is either post-'97 or else has been heavily modified from Leo-era specs (based on the pickups used and switching configuration).
