Gries amps: Anyone else have one?

Post by padavis »

I just picked up a used Gries Minnow. Its like an advanced 5F1 Tweed Champ. He did a terrific job with it and its just magical.

There are three things I have noticed so far:
1. For a single 6V6, it is super articulate and has more than enough head room for church, small gigs, or a good PA.
2. It eats pedals up for breakfast.
3. Using a 1x12. Speaker changes are amazing. The difference between speakers is noticeable and awesome.

So, bottomline is this, if you need a small amp and have some good distortion pedals for dirty tones, OR you have the space to crank the crap out of this for old schoool rock tones, the Gries Minnow is a real winner and worth a try.
