tele bridge MFD pickup question

I recently bought a used 2003 G&L tele bridge MFD pickup (the one with the yellow and green lead wires). I noticed it sounded different than my recent tele bridge MFD pickup (the one with the yellow and red lead wires), even though the ohmage is very close on them. Does anyone know why they might sound different (i.e. hand wound vs. machine wound, different wire used for winding, etc.)? I'd also appreciate it if anyone knows where I might look to find another like the 2003 model.

Is it the same difference from the strings? Are the pole-pieces adjusted the same? Do that and you'll probably find they sound virtually identical.

Yes, they're adjusted exactly the same.

What are the DC-R readings for both?

I do know that this pickup had 7,000 turns of 42 gauge wire and DC-R of approx. 4.8K pre-1993 and post-1993
the amount of magnet wire (still 42 gauge) was increased to 7,500 turns, bringing the DC-R to approx. 6.0K.
I will add this to my list when I get the opportunity to discuss the list with Paul Gagon.

Craig, my ohm meter is analog, and both pickups measure a little over 6 ohms, although I've come across some that are higher than that. For example, here's a current ebay add for the same bridge pickup that says it's 6.45: http://www.ebay.com/itm/G-L-ASAT-Classi ... 6rk%3D1%26

Also, I was wondering if you could help me with two questions:

1. Does the number 12 stamped between the low E and A magnets on the bridge pickup designate anything like what year it was made or something else? (You can see it on the photo of the one on ebay if you hover over it with your mouse.) Of the two bridge pickups that I own, the one from 2003 has the 12 and the newer one doesn't.

2. Can you tell me how to get to this board's G&L marketplace?
