I'm from akron ohio. Found this wonderful sight & I thought I'd join. I've had a G&L asat bass since the early nineties. It was custom ordered with a wide neck and transparant blue. It's a nice bass. Nice to see a forum on G&L's.

Welcome, TC! Your bass sounds interesting. Does the wider neck throw off the balance? I understand the decision to create a 1.5" nut width for the ASAT Bass was due to problems with the larger necks being too heavy for the body...

I have a son in Akron who also plays the bass (Warwick) that I bought him for xmas! thinking about getting him a G&L but dont want to spoil him yet!!.....Have fun!
