Stringing an L2500 Tribute
Any suggestions on strings for a Tribute L2500. I just got it and want to get the most punch that I can.

Re: Stringing an L2500 Tribute
Jeff, I have an American L-2500 and I see no reason to change to anything other than what it came with. There are many options and everyone has a favorite. I think that the D'Addarios are just fine.-- Darwin

See this post for the strings G&L uses: What gauge & brand of strings does G&L use on their guitars?JeffW wrote:Any suggestions on strings for a Tribute L2500. I just got it and want to get the most punch that I can.
Hope this helps.

Re: Stringing an L2500 Tribute
After I bought my L2500 Tribute used (like new for $600, great instrument, will not change it), I wanted to put new strings on it. I put on the Fender 8250-5 because they had tapered ends on Bb and E for string-through-body.
In various forums, however, the DR Sunbeams were highly praised, so I then put on DR Sunbeams Medium 045-130
wound up. However, the sound of the B string in particular was very disappointing and weak, so I switched back to the Fender 8250-5.
By the way, I noticed that the small screw on the side of the bridge should always be tightened well so that the upper strings in particular get volume and resonate well.
