Bi Cut neck

Post by Ribsspare »

I understand of the famous bi cut necks to help resist warping. So I looked at my 2011 S 500 and 1994 ASAT special and I could not find any lines or divisions to indicate that the neck was cut. I know that in likelihood, the necks are bi cut but my necks look like one piece wood.

I simply cannot visually tell if my G&L necks are bi cut. If it is bi cut, which I'm sure it is, it's virtually impossible to tell-at least by my untrained eyes.

Here's a picture:

It's subtle, but the line will be there. Sometimes you can see it half way up the headstock too.

Your ASAT from 1994 has for sure a bi-cut neck, the S-500 has none, because they stopped the bi cut technique somewheren in late 2006, correct me, if I'm wrong.

Sometimes they used different halfes and sometime the same halfes had been glued together. In the latter case it's nearly impossible to see.
