Post by timewave »

Hey all,I have recently rec. a kindda case candy kit from Chris at G+L, well all worked out well but the serial# on c.o.a. was clf instead of cl# and the tremelo bar I orderd swung around( I did post this),but I have to say Chris has once again come through sending new c.o.a. and set screw and inserts! Only one prob. now what....inserts ? I have no idea what their for and how to install.Oh... He also sent new sticker(chick on a pick, that makes 2) and some G+L picks!Any help would be cool ...and I cant say enough about how helpful Chris at G+L has been!I am very pleased with the service I am getting from Chris and the G+LCo. I'm sure there is a tutorial on this somewhere(Craig) Well Thanks stevet and if anybody has a U.S. Comanche with my #s but clf in front I got a c.o.a. for you. :P My gtr is in registry Thanks again

That's the vibrato arm socket:

On top there you see the set screw. On your guitar you can see it, while looking from body to neck. First you put in the vibrato arm, then the insert and at last that set screw. You tighten the set screw until the vibrato arm is as tight as you wish.

Maybe everything already is there and you have just to tighten the screw.

Since we've already determined you are missing the allen set screw and possibly
the nylon bushing, I suggest you remove the trem bar from the socket and insert
a toothpick or small dowel through the threaded hole where the bushing and set
screw go to make sure there is no existing bushing. Then follow Miles Smiles post.

BTW, I had responded to your previous post: tremelo bar swinging like a go-go girl
and thought that that would have answered your question. Did you see the link to
the post I included? It has a good photo showing where the set screw is located.

Hope this helps.
