New Guitar G&L Legacy Tribute - C.L. DEAL / STEAL!

Post by dougsat »

So I picked up a G & L Legacy Tribute (2004) that was missing a saddle, had some horribly scratchy POTS that actually made noise than cut out at the end of the volume range.

All of these problems seemed fixable to me but so I offered $80 bucks for it and apparently it was good enough.

The truth is the guitar is in really good shape, hardly a scratch on it. At worst I planned on fixing it and flipping it.

Now I think I may keep it - love the sound and playability. I like it better than the Fender MIM Strat (yes I had one once upon a time).

What a Fun Fun guitar

Hi Doug, nice looking Legacy you got there!

I've yet to hear of a MIK G&L that didn't have scratchy, dysfunctional pots. It was a special feature to stop them becoming too popular

Other than that they're fine instruments. I love my 2 MIK ASAT's. Rock on!

What. A. Score.
My Tribute L2500 has horribly scratchy pots, and I'm betting that the Cherryburst Legacy I just got will too.

I wonder if the scratchy pot thing is due to humidity issues in shipping from Asia? Or just bad pots? Do they clean up with a contact cleaner like De-oxit or Funk-out?

Certainly, that guitar is worth a couple of pots.

Hey, I'll give ya $85 bucks for it!!!

Nice scoree!

"How does somebody lose a saddle?"

Good question - I asked the same thing - I got - "I'm not sure how or why it is missing?"

The guitar wasn't beat up otherwise so I didn't press the issue.

I Ordered new POTS from Ebay - I got two of them today - I can't wait to put them in a fix that problem.

I don't mind doing that at all - Oh yea I tried cleaning them but to no avail.

Glad to be put of the G & L owners club - I doubt I will choice Fender over G & L at least not the MIM over a Tribute.
