Darwin, where do you keep the Johnny Hiland?

I like the look of the Taylor. The neck appears wider(?) The body has a design that is a mix of others but not too extreme in any direction. I also think you need something like it in the collection just to bring out the reds even more. Sprinkling them with some contrast really shows them off well, IMO. Then again, this does not look like the Wall of Reds or do you just rotate the collection? The wall is red of course but there are only a couple red guitars hanging in this picture.

Michael, I do have the guitars mixed by color on the wall. I do have several Reds on the floor but try to maintain a balance. You asked about the Johnny Hiland. it is in the next picture and the Taylor is in the lower left. This shows what a difference lighting can make.-- Darwin

Everytime I see your collection I think it can't get much better, then it seems to! Those Gretch specimans look great with all the high quality bolt-on stuff around them. I don't know much about Gretch, but have always thought they look cool.

How do you paint around all those guitars on the wall?

Strats, I'm retired and that is my full time job. Now that I almost completed the painting I hope that Ginny doesn't decide to change the color!

SBNT, thanks. It is a tough job to keep everything organized and also keeping a place here to live. I tread carefully as I haven't always been good about getting permission from the CFO. -- Darwin

That quilt maple top looks sweet, and the Gretch is another awesome looking guitar.

Nice collection.

g'day Darwin, I am sure you know but it can't hurt to say. Sunlight and guitars don't really mix for any long periods of time , overtime you could get some fading. Or worse the glued in necks might move a little. Just got your back on this. I must say inspiring wall you have there too mate.

Leof, you make an excellent point. We only get sunlight on them for a short period in the winter when the intensity of the sun is quite low here in Minnesota. As it gets higher in the sky it no longer hits them. It would hit them from about 3:00 to 4:00 PM in the midwinter. Thanks-- Darwin
