I like the pearloid guards, in the right context at least...have them on both my Legacys (the one I bought used came like that, and I ordered one on my other). I think it looks good on that Commanche...but I take it you don't?

I do...black krinkle might be nice, the plain jane white looks pretty good IMO with the black and maple.

Very nice. However, his claim that it is nitro finished is highly unlikely. It looks to be a 2004 build.

Agree, it is a good starting price.

I'm not a huge fan of pearl pickguards but sometimes it looks ok. I dig the pearl on the 30th anniv. And it doesn't look to bad on that blonde Comanche but I would definitely prefer white.

When I asked music man about getting a pickguard for one of their discontinued models I had, they referred me to "Chandler" at http://pickguards.us/.
I never ended up getting one so i have no experience with them, but they might be able to make a non-pearloid one for ya...

I ordered my CAR Comanche with w/b/w plain pickgaurd with plastic knobs and 1c slim neck. I wanted Comanche with a 60's vibe to it. It looks great. I don't like Pearl pickgaurds. My 30th Anniversy Legacy came with a pearl pickgaurd I hate the pickgaurd but it will stay on the guitar only because it's an anniversy model.

you know, i actually passed on a 30th anniversary model because of that. changing it wouldn't be right, and i don't want it with it.
