legacy maple neck, fretboard

Post by sixshoooter »

Anyone have a legacy with the gloss coat , tinted maple neck/fretboard? I have one that has a heavily gloss coat on it, which even feels like the frets are clear coated over...is this factory done (heavy gloss coat which feels like it was done over the frets too) ? thanks

Yes, I would believe it is factory. The whole neck including the frets are clearcoated. Mt Fenders are the same way.-- Darwin

ok thanks!......since I bought it 2nd hand, I at first wasn't sure if someone had done it or had it done after the fact...it is an interesting feel...does make it easier to maneuver I have to say.

another thing that blows me away, is I have never seen a trem block as thick , solid and beefy as this one has...very impressive. Only thing I wonder now, is I wonder if these standard type strat saddles sound as good as the vintage styled, which from what I read, some engineers at Fender had decided the vintage style ones sound better than the beefier standard saddles... go figure
