ASAT Special Deluxe switch orientation

Post by Jim Sams »

Guys,
Is there only one switch location on the ASAT special Deluxe?
I have seen a DF trem equipped double bound solid color version with the switch located in a different position than on the official website.

Hi Jim,

Take a look at the Enlarged view of the ASAT Special Deluxe and you will
see these two images, which have different switch (and knob) locations:

I know that the top picture (rosewood fretboard) was the original picture used when this model first
came out in 2001. The other picture was of one built in a later year (possibly as new as two years ago).
I will check with my contacts at the factory to see which switch orientation is the current setup.

Is this what you were seeing between the two you mentioned?

Do you have a picture of that ASAT Special Deluxe with DF trem and double bound body?
That's an unusual combination and I'd sure like to see it, if possible.

Also, there are differences between the USA ASAT Special Deluxe and the Tribute ASAT Special Deluxe Carved Top.

Hope this helps.

I have a 2011 asat special deluxe and its switch is located exactly like the top picture with the natural finish.

The guitar has the switch orientation of the second guitar.
I bought the guitar so I can post pics later.
It is double bound light blue with a bound ebony board neck.
The switch/knob orientation is one of the reasons I bought it.
I sold my SC2 because the trem bar is sort on in the way of the volume knob.....
