ASAT neck pickup in Legacy neck position

Post by Michael-GnL-Michael »

Does anyone know if a Legacy would sound like an ASAT / Telecaster if you were to replace the Legacy neck pickup with the MFD pickup used in an ASAT Classic?

This would be using the neck pickup alone as you cannot get the neck and bridge combination on a Legacy without changing the wiring.

If it helps, you might use a scale from 1 to 5 to describe the result (Legacy = 1 to ASAT Classic / Telecaster = 5), so if not dead on maybe a 4 almost there?

Haven't tried it but it might sound a lot like an S500 neck pickup ? Also it would most likely be a lot louder than the middle and bridge Legacy pickups, that's the only downside I can see.
