Ok, go to this link on the Guitar Adoptions website: http://www.guitaradoptions.com/g-l-kori ... esboy.html

Now look at the third 3/4 closeup picture of the guitar. Does it show a second screw on the pickguard? The other closeups don't have it...

Cheers,

Will

Classic! If you look at the wood grain - Both pictures are of the same guitar. Hopefully, the pictures are not of a guitar they have for sale.. I sure would like to hear an explanation. Guitar adoptions is a first class outfit - I own 2 G&L's that were originally sold by Guitar Adoptions.

I also noticed that this Korina Bluesboy was also blessed with NOT having the new serial # plate! Is that possible? :shocked028:

It appears the screw just left of the control plate is missing Will.

Sirmy,

ASATs do not have a screw located there.

That's really, really strange. The grain does look the same. Is this some sort of optical illusion?

Those Korina Bluesboys look great...

Even though the grains in the two body halves don't
match the guitar is really beautiful.

Honestly I didn't see it, I didn't realize it was a thumb, thought it was a very small image.

I posted a comment to Dave at Guitar Adoptions about this on their website.
I'm sure he will have this photo corrected.

It's high time we receive these Korina's, so we can post real pics, sounds and video's.
Then we can finally stop investigating these tiny pics :searching:

I'm left handed but I learned to write with my right hand and play
guitar right handed. I can now write better left handed. I often
wondered if I could play better if I switched to a left handed guitar?
My inherited ball glove was for a right handed person too. So I learned
to do everything right handed except brushing my teeth (since there
aren't right handed tooth brushes fortunately).

I just checked out a Korina G&L. They look good. I was warned against a two piece body, but... With this one: The two pieces don't match well (makes one side look darker at most angles) & the light tint finish got onto the fretboard in a few places. That's not coming off easily. I really wanted a Korina S-500 or Legacy, so I may cancel my order. If so, that will free up a lefty at Adirondack Guitars...

Regards,

Will

Do you currently own an S-500? If so how do you like it compared to the Legacy?

I've been playing my Invader in split coil mode all the time. Makes me
think I should forget about upgrading to a USA invader. That's why
I'm asking about the S-500.

The Legacy & S-500 are amazing instruments.

I've had good luck with this S-500. I'm looking at another S-500 or Legacy Special(the 2HB is nice too).

Yeah! You can note a slight discoloration on the pickguard where they took out the extra screw. Must be the filler they used to tuck the gap! :P

Ok, it's official: I dropped my order for a Korina Bluesboy LH w/ locking tuners from Adirondack Guitars. It should arrive next week. So, any lefty's out there wanting a Korina... I ended-up grabbing a few other guitars including a Parker (thanks for that G.A.S., Darwin).

Forgive me guys, but amazingly, I just found this thread (though I've been interested in Will's lefty Korina Bluesboy quest for some time now).
This has to be the most interesting screw I've encountered since getting married.
But at the end of the day, I'm really just interested in Will's satisfaction...
As well as my own, seeing I already own (one of) the finest (though not the fanciest) Bluesboys ever created by G&L.

Oh, and Thanks Tim!

Ed, that is an incredible guitar. When you have one like that, all others are judged by it... With the Korina, I'm really picky. I rarely sell my instruments, so what I end up with has to hold-up. I really wanted a one piece limba S-500. I bought another S-500 and may have a Korina body made for it... I'm figuring that this is the ONLY way I can get one. In a nutshell: I bought 3 G&L's and a Parker.

FYI: a lefty Korina Bluesboy with locking tuners is on it's way to that shop. It may even be the only one like this! Call there and ask for Dennis; he'll hook you up...

Cheers,

Will
