Very nice looking guitar Brandon! With all the talk here lately about the SC-2, I would be very interested in checking one out. I like the classic look of them. And other members here seem pleased with the tone. I wish there were dealers in my area so I could try them out!
Thank you everyone for the complements on my SC-2. I have been enjoying it very much. While all 3 of my G&L's have kind of their own vibe, I think this one is the most unique of them. I must say i love these pickups, all the shimmer and sparkle you can expect from single coils but at the same time a very smooth and sultry sort of tone, if that makes sense. Mix them with the saddle lock bridge and I have a guitar that has amazing sustain. And the neck, as I have come to expect with G&L feels right at home in my hand.
Dave, I too would have loved to be able to demo one of these before I bought, but didn't have that opportunity either. I went out on a limb with little more than a hunch when I ordered this one. This time, that gamble paid off. I am very pleased, just wish had a couple more hours in a day just to play this one.
Scott, glad you mentioned the pickup covers, that was the most difficult feature to figure out. The black in the end is what felt the most right. Hehehe, I must have picked correctly. And have always wanted to have a guitar with a matching headstock felt that it was right on the SC-2.
Beautiful guitar. I was very unaware of the SC-2 features until I looked in them here. I saw one advertised on the bay saying that it was a 24.75 scale. I did not realize that the pickups were the large MFDs and thought they were some kind of fenderish single coils. At some point in the future I will have a Green one.-- Darwin
The SC-2s have a cartoonish quality to them which is enhanced with vibrant color like the belair green with matching headstock.
Both of the SC-2s appearing in this thread are gorgeous (the green ones up to this point and sorry if I excluded others). The sparkle one with the pool (avatar) is right at home like taking a picture of a duck by a pond. Brandon's looks exceptionally well against the back lit tree, grass and tree trunk that sort of matches the fretboard in an abstract way. I have been really impressed with the way people photograph their guitars on this forum.

Yeah, there is a lot of mis-information on eBay, just like that one saying its a 24.75 scale.
In case you weren't aware of the history of the SC-2, you might check out Greg Gagliano's G&L web pages.
He covers the other Leo-era G&L's and some of the BBE-era G&L's, too.
