The G&L Perfect Guitar

Post by darwinohm »

I attended a Taylor road show last night and there were acoustic demos by a Midwest Marketing Director. The Solid Body and T-5 demos were done by an artist by the name of Marc Seal. Marc Seal was awesome and did every style of picking and music that could be done in a half hour. He did everything from acoustic, strat tones, different type of jazz and distortion to finger picking up on the neck with all fingers. I don't even know what to call it. The only thing he did not recommend the t-5 for is heavy metal. My point is that every G&L guitar could be the perfect, one guitar does all with an additional Piezo pickup with tone control on the Piezo and blending with the other pickups. It could be an ASAT, Legacy or all of them. I have to believe that they have experimented with this but in my opinion that would make them the ultimate guitar which they are almost now. What do you think? I bet there would be a demand. I have had three piezos and they do some neat stuff, especially with blending.-By the way, I would love to see a Will Ray workshop in Minneapolis. I bet that he would blow them away. I just can't imagine Will coming here in December or January -- Darwin

Darwin,

I got my eye on a 2007 Taylor Classic 1. Its really a good guitar. Also a early 80's Peavey T60 in Maroon. Rare Color. Of course the T60 cost a lot less. Also underated.
I am sure Will Ray will have a clinic here soon at the Arlington Guitar Show.
Piezo on a ASAT would be cool.

I will say that the Taylor T5 is a great guitar. I have a T5 custom that I love. It's the second guitar in my chain that I go to. The first being my 2003 Honeyburst USA Legacy. :D

When I can finally pitch in for another 7 Darwin (no trying a 'cheaper' builder this time), I wager what I have in mind will make your entire wall jealous. It will hurt my pockets a bit much though. :happy0007: In all seriousness I haven't chosen the builder yet, but there are a few on the list, depends whose strengths I want to play. I have to wait for employment and the university to refund me my remaining tuition though. Otherwise I keep a safety net intact.
