Can't Post Pics
Hello, tried to post pics here but cannot. I read the instructions and have tried everything but to no avail. I am using Photobucket as a hosting site. Keeps saying images are too large. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Can't Post Pics
Hi,
Reread the Tutorial: Posting photos and try to post the pictures either as a thumb nail using the tag or using the tag. In both cases, the picture placed is actually a link to the original. With the tag you have the opportunity to 'resize' the picture such that it is still pretty large but for the best results you should maintain the same aspect ratio as the original.
Hope this helps,
- Jos

I use Photobucket also. I believe the problem will go away if you edit your picture in photobucket. The default save is 1025 by XXX and this site will not accept 1025. I do a resize to something just under 1000 and it will post. That is your problem if that is the message you are getting. It would have been much easier if the default here were 1025.-- Darwin

Tried resizing and I no longer get the message that it is too big, however, now when previewing it, I only get the written code, still no pic. Must be missing something else here. Thanks for the help. P.S. here's what I get:[img][IMG]http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee503/Jay_McIlwaine/IMG_2438.jpg[/img][/img]

Re: Can't Post Pics
Photobucket adds the [IMG] parentheses for images automatically, so you don't need to add them again on the G&L board. Just paste the image code straight in from Photobucket.
So your problem is you've got a duplicate pair of parentheses. Just delete one parenthesis from the beginning and end of the image code and your image should show up.
Edit: Darwin beat me to it over on your other thread.

...and make sure the "disable BBCode" box is unchecked (below the text box) if your using the G&L board BBcodes.

Re: Can't Post Pics
I think you may be a victim of photobucket misbehaving...I was having no luck placing the direct url between the IMG tags either. Even though the pic is under 500 pixels wide ,I was getting the oversize notification too, , so there is some sort of error in the works.
I saved the pic and uploaded it to my photobucket acct and it worked.
I've noticed the Photobucket resizing/editting feature doesn't always work well,
very frustrating.

The reason we had to restrict the size on this forum was because it was found that pictures greater than 1000 pixels wide would not displaydarwinohm wrote:I use Photobucket also. correctly on one of the forum Styles (prosilver).
Also, you do not need to resize a photo if you use the thumb= tags or timage= tags with the size no bigger than "1000,1300".
This will place a resized image of your photo as a link to the full size image. See Tutorial: Posting photos
for examples of each, including the code used for each of those examples.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help guys, We got it figured out. I had to post directly from Photobucket without clicking the Img tag above. Seems to work now, thanks again.
