Swtich tips... not tips on switches but the tips on them

The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

Swtich tips... not tips on switches but the tips on them

Post by madmat »

I've got to ask, why. Why is it shaped like an inverted cup? Why is the hole so deep that when the tip is fully seated it won't go into positions 1 or 5?

Why not use something that's not so odd? The shape I can live with but the tip bottoming on the screws when it's fully seated on the switch is a bit bothersome.

Since this is my first S-500, I've never encountered it before. Anyone have some tips on these tips?

Replace it with a Strat tip it is. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Yours must have been pushed in too far or split so that it went too far down. G&L uses "Strat" tips on the Lagacies. A $0.50 replacement part... I've had no problems w/ mine:
