S500 switch question

Post by Roach72 »

i recently aquired a new USA S500 wich i cant say enough good things about , its a fantastic instrument . my question though is this , with the exception of the non pickguard versions of the S500 all the pics ive seen have the mini toggle switch . mine is a standard model with pearl pickguard and instead of the mini toggle it has a push pull volume pot , is this common ? i only ask because i cant find others like it . i bought the guitar brand new so this came from the factory this way

I have definitely seen the push-pull on the s500 deluxe, and if it can be done it seems like g&l will do it upon request. sweet s500 by the way. let me know if you ever wanna unload it :D

I think the Tribute versions do not have the switch but just the pull knob but I could be wrong. Nice guitar ya got by the way. I just placed an order for my own S 500 (USA version). I'm gonna guess that it will come with the switch.

My '95 S-500 has the push-pull, not the 3-way. I prefer it that way actually.

You can order either the mini-toggle switch or a push-pull volume pot on the USA models. It is an unwritten option. I got this information from Steve Grom, who is the
Director of Manufacturing. When you order, ask the dealer to indicate which type you want and in the case of the mini-toggle, specifiy the location.

Hope this helps.
