I posted this story on another G&L enthusiast site a few weeks back and thought there might be some interest here.
Abouit a month ago Aussie youth oriented radio station Triple J completed a listener poll to complie the Hottest 100 Australian Albums of all Time. As you'd expect, the list has a predominantly contemporary flavour to it.
Based on millions of votes across Australia, first and second places went to Powderfinger's "Odyssey Number Five" from 2000 and Silverchair's "Frogstomp".from 1995. Both bands have lowend G&L connections. Fifth place went to the 1987 album "Kick" by well known G&L endorsers INXS

Very cool. I never knew INXS were G&L users. I'll have to check out maybe their latest CD since it may be a bunch of G&L guitars.

Re: Three G&L Bands in top 5 Best Aussie Albums of All Time
A few months back Chris Joannou from Silverchair was selling his G&L bass on Oz EBay (for charity if I recall correctly). The starting price was ~$6000. And it sold!
Kirk Pengilly from INXS has also been auctioning some of his guitars on Oz EBay for charity. So far I've seen a G&L S-500, some Westone's and some Tokai's. He probably hasn't even noticed they're gone.
I like the odd Powderfinger song. This one is my favourite. BTW, thanks for posting Aussie.
