Hi guys and gals, my name is Ted and I'm a new member from Minneapolis, MN. I don't own a G&L at present, but I've played a few at local dealers and have been really impressed with the quality, especially for the money. I play in a bunch of different styles, but have been into instrumental surf, spaghetti western, reverb- and trem-drenched stuff lately. I'm looking hard at ordering a custom legacy or maybe one of the new SC-2s. I haven't decided yet whether I want to go with a legacy as an upgrade for my current squire strat, or go with the SC-2 for something completely different. I will say that I was VERY impressed with the sound I was getting out of an SC-2 here locally. With the vibrato bridge it had a bit of a jazzmaster vibe which I like a lot!
Anyway, that's me. I'm looking forward to picking your brains!
PS: If anyone has any thoughts on G&L's V-shaped necks or on using heavy (.012+) strings with the DFV and various fretboard specs I've posted those questions to what (I think) are the appropriate boards:
