FACTORY INSIDER ..... If 2 Pickups are Good, then 3 Must Be Better !!!
This is one of a series of 3 Pickup ASAT Specials that were created by one of our dealers, Midlothian School of Music in Orland Park, Il (708) 403-3733.
This model was made in limited quantities a number of years ago and we were asked if more could be made ..... No Problem .... The one in the photo is
an alder body, Himalayan Blue Gloss Finish, Double White Binding on Body, 3 ASAT Special Pickups, Single-ply White Pickguard, Push/Pull Expander
Switch, 5-way Pickup Selector and a Maple Neck/Fingerboard. Each of the guitars in this series are different colors (so far we have done a flame top
cherry bust, red metal flake and black). Contact John at Midlothian for more information

Here's another in this series:

Midlothian Music just received the first ASAT 3 made to our specs. Shown in cherryburst with natural wood binding, premium quilt top,
#2 maple neck with gloss and abalone dot markers. 3 large MFD pickups, the center pickup is reverse wound. The cool thing is it has a 5 way
selecter switch and a push/pull tone knob that allows all 3 pickups on or neck and bridge on. Ash body and a nice medium weight. Today we
are unpacking a black with tortoise guard, rosewood board with the back of neck gunoil and gloss and a candy red model with tortoise guard
and rosewood board. Watch as we are posting ASAP. Let us know what you think. Many more on the way all different options and colors.

Mine is not a Special, but simply ASAT and has been extended by the pre owner. I just modified the wiring and replaced the 3 position switch against a standard 5 position selector. Then I struggled some time with the use of the mini switch and found a good solution.
The switch just swaps the electric positions of the middle and the bridge pick-up. So, when the switch is off, the 5 position switch is operating as it does in a Strat. When the switch is on, the first 3 Positions have the same functions as in an ASAT or Tele. Positions 4 and 5 I do not use in that mode. So the toggle is like a switch between Tele and Strat mode, which I do prefer over just linking neck and bridge pick-ups. I found the sound from all 3 pick-ups not useful, so it doesn't matter, that my solution does not provide that sound.

Really nice!
I'd like to see the routing behing the guard of the blue one. I'm wondering if it's a pool.

Because there's not much wood left over, a pool would not make much difference. ;)
