Extra "gound"?

Extra "gound"?

While digging inside my Tribute Legacy, I noticed a ground wire screwed into the wood in the pickup cavity. I don't recall seeing this on any of my other guitars. Is there a purpose for it? I would see it serve a purpose if the cavity were shielded, but it is not and another ground wire goes to the trem claw as usual.

That seems odd. Can you post a photo of this?
