PTB Tone circuit w/ 1 stacked pot?

Post by Lee60 »

Hi All,

1st post here! Glad I made it to the show!

So I have a Strat-type guitar with pickup routes (no pickguard), 1 Volume + 1 Tone pot. I'm about to drop in a set of Legacy pickups, and was exploring the possibility of adding the G&L PTB tone circuit. On this guitar, this could only be achieved with a stacked tone pot... but I can't find one with the right resistances. The PTB circuit uses a 1 meg for bass, and a 500K for treble. Anyone have any leads on where I can find the right stacked pot, or maybe someone who can custom build one? Thanks!

Not sure if you can find mix matched concentric pots, might want to try a 1meg for each? Some folks like 1 meg tone controls, gives a bit more even sweep supposedly. No reason it will not work though.
