Hi there, just picked up a G&L S-500. Not sure what year it is. It dose not say made by Leo on the headstock. The serial # is 3816 on the COA. But not sure that means alot as far as year. Also don't know how to post a pic here.
So any help would be a plus, thanks.

To get the full serial number, look at the back of the headstock. It will either be CL03816 or CLF03816. The factory used to
leave off the prefix on the COA. Check out the guitarsbyleo.com History and G&LDP Guidelines. There is a section on posting photos here.
Not all instruments have the guitars by Leo decal. Here's a post explaining why.
Check out these posts in the G&L Knowledgebase for info on serial numbers and instrument dating:

How do I determine an instrument's age?
Hope this helps.
