F-100 with Duncans Versus F-100 Anniversary Issue model?

I have been thinking about buying this guitar for some time now. I am interested in the F-100 with passive pickups (I think there were some vintage ones made with active pickups).

There are basically two types I am interested it. The F-100 equipped with seymour duncan pickups. THis guitar has the standard pickup routed slots, so replacing the pickups isn't a big deal. The other F-100's vintage or anniversary models come with the custom G&L pick up, pole pieces are quite different and the pick up itself is longer and so replacing the stock G&L-made pickup might not look that great.

My question is - hope to the owners and or rock guitarists out there. How do these F-100 G&L pickups measure up to the SH-4 JB Seymour Duncan pickups that are installed in the other F-100 models?

I play a lot rock, Van Halen* to Dream Theater.

If anyone knows or has experiences with both, it would be awesome to know your view.

Well it has been the Holidays...alot of forums I visit have been slow over the last week.
I only have some Leo-era F-100's so I can't comment on the newer ones.

As Elwood said, this time of year tends to be slow on the G&LDP.

I did respond to your post the first time you posted it. I don't know if you read my response.
I have also updated the guitar pickup list related to the MFD humbucker pickups.

I just read darwinohm's to the Monday LR post in the Weekly Lunch Reports sub-forum. He mentions playing
his F-100 Return edition and comments on the tone. It might be of some interest to you.
