ASAT S-3 Question

Post by BigBob »

Hello,
I just traded for the ASAT S-3 , It has semi hollow body all painted in a cream white with a ash back with a flame maple top with wood binding and the neck is maple with a 7 1/2 " radius rosewood board . Has aftermarket pickups,The pickups are all handwound and made in the USA .They are alnico 5 magnets the bridge is a humbucker at 12 ohms,The other 2 are singles coils at around 7 ohms to 8 ohms very strat sounding in the neck. Could I get original Pickups or maybe a set like the Trinity had ? Also looking for a different Pick guard.

Thank You, Bob

If you can locate 3 soapbar MFD pickups (check G&L's On-Line store),
you could have them rewound (google "pickup rewinding service") to the Trinity specs (6.5K for the neck, 7.25-7.3K for middle RW/RP, and 7.25-7.3K for the bridge).

Just a thought.
