You have probably noticed that our site has been up and down recently. I finally heard back about why.
Our ISP is in the process of updating their Servers to a new version of MySQL. They sent me email yesterday and they said:
"Over the next few weeks, we will be upgrading your databases within your hosting account(s) to MySQL5.7. There might be a short service interruption during the upgrade, and we will try our best to keep it as minimal as possible.
Please keep a close eye on the announcement and reach out to us if your website is facing any issues after upgrades."
UPDATE 9/16/2025-ISP's Servers are being updated ...

UPDATE 9/16/2025-Re: ISP's Servers are being updated ...
I contacted the ISP Tech Support to get status on the database server update this morning.
They again told me they are currently working on it but could not give me a timeframe for completion.
However, I was able to get a workaround to reset the database error we have been seeing since the announcement of the
update. So, when this happens:

I will be able to easily reset this error condition and the site will be accessible again.General Error

UPDATE 10/11/2025-ISP's Servers are being updated ...
I noticed that our site was down again with more "SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]" errors on Thursday and Friday. ISP is still working on getting their database servers software updated and have again affected our site. They still will not provide an estimate on when this work will be completed but promised to let me know when they complete it. The site is back up but I expect that there will be additional down times until they complete the upgrade.
Dave McLaren is currently covering the monthly ISP fees.
Stay tuned.

UPDATE 10/14/2025-ISP's Servers are being updated ...
I contacted ISP Tech Support, since our site has been down all day. And, of course,
when I contacted them they could not reproduce the errors. I confirmed that the
site is now again working as expected. I also asked them again when the database server update
was going to be finished. Their reply was:
"Business said
Currently they are upgrading the PHP version, so for SQL version they will send an notification about it."
Stay tuned.
