Painted up my JB-2

Post by Shug »

I must have watched too many punk rock videos~~ Got a hankering to make my shell pink JB-2 a bit more personalized. Used my career as a juggler as a muse. Put some Hipshot Ultralite tuners on too.

Very nice work... Maybe I should consider that. Every time I'm playing I feel like a juggler right at the instant all the balls drop to the ground...

I like them but never bought their music. Just hear it when I hear it. I like Bono's daughter as an actor.

As a juggler I know the drill...they are either in the air or on the ground. Kinda alway liked that.

Added to my collection of 3 G&L basses now.
I got to go and purchase, with my wife's blessings and along with a trade of my Reverend Thundergun bass...a CLF SB-2 in a clear Blue. It is amazing. And light. And Growly!
I visited it and played it last week. Wanted to try an SB-1 but alas...none there at Eclipse Music in St. Paul, MN.
Went to a store in Wisconsin today to try and CLF SB-1 in Andromeda. It was a beaut but I kept thinking about the SB-2 and that blue finish. And tone. And feel. Headed back to ol' Bluey and made the buy. Got it home and played it for 3 hours straight. Enjoyable! Love those USA ones. Tried a few Tributes but the CLFs just felt like butter and the tone made me swoon a bit.
Both stores are G&L Dealers and both were very nice to deal with and made me welcome. Eclipse Music in St. Paul. John was super. Talked with Tom at Brickhouse Music in River Falls, Wisconsin and he was truly nice and we spoke deeply of music. And bass.
Was a good day. No remorse.

Stephen King is one of my favorite Story Tellers. Yes, he writes great horror novels, but his true talent is story teller.
The Dark Tower series is an 8 book series that tells a tale of our world, and that of a coexistent parallel universe.
I read the 2nd book 1st, and was hooked, then the 3rd, then went back and read the 1st. They are all unique. I don't know if the 1st would have hooked me like the 2nd one did. His character development is masterful, and the story...well, you'll have to see!

Very nice work! Can I ask what type of paint/finish you used for the body. I am looking into building a custom bass and am trying to get as much info as possible! Great job 🤘🏼😎
