1983 (?) SB-2 Questions

I bought this awesome bass from a friend about 10 years ago, with the understanding that if I ever needed to sell hit, he got first dibs before it gets listed anywhere. I have reached the phase of my life that finds me selling unused gear so that I can de-clutter some of my life after decades of extremely busy music work. I am equally grateful for the music I have been lucky enough to make AND the time to now slow down. It was going to be an easy sale because I would have sold it for the same price I paid him, which was extremely fair 10 years ago! He does not want the bass, surprisingly, and now I am tasked to sell it more traditionally, and I can't find much info to help me price it.
It's been well-loved and shows it (some would say that it's beat up, I call it well-loved). I know that dating the bass by serial number alone is not always accurate with a G&L, but I do not want to remove the neck. Besides, it's got the 2 MFD in a layout that I can only find on the 1983 models, so that coincides with the serial number.
Can anyone point me to some info that can make me feel more confident with a price. I have looked through Reverb and eBay, but don't see enough similar basses to tell me much. Help?
