Will Ray FatBoy Stealth Slide

Maybe this should be a New Stealth Slide Day post, got a new Will Ray FatBoy Stealth Slide and love it!

Have had a regular Will Ray Stealth Slide for years and use it but always thought the slide part was a little small. When I saw Will put out a new one for those with bigger fingers, I noticed the slide was bigger as well as the ring, so decided to give it a try. I do not have large fingers and the original slide fit just fine. The design of the slide, like the original, is made so it can be adjusted bigger or smaller so I could adjust to fit snug on my finger.

On the first use I could tell it was easier for me to cover selected string(s) and get a more fluid slide sound. I don't play a lot of slide but this is giving me a reason to find more opportunities to incorporate slide into my playing. I am learning to use the smaller one for my right picking hand like Will shows in the second video below.

Of all the mini slides I've seen, these look the most practical.

Like most players who don't focus on slide play, I dabble every now and again - but find it a hassle to learn how to lick over various open tunings. Sticking to an open G or D, and keeping it verrry simple.

Maybe 25 years ago I bought a mini slide, but it was too bulky to play fretted chords or scales, so I gave up on that, and went back to a full slide - not that I was getting a lot of use out of it.

This stealth slide however looks quite functional. I may give this a whirl. I like the idea that I can just keep it on when I am not playing.
