CBS approval of tooling costs for the last Fender guitar...

Post by Craig »

From a post on G&L's CLF Research facebook page (9/20/2024):
Fullerton - October 1969: CBS approval of tooling costs for the last Fender guitar to be designed by Leo Fender.
The new guitar was to be positioned above the Telecaster for 1970, but it was not completed before Leo’s contract expired.
The prototype #CLF69 instrument was completed almost 50 years later, using features created by Leo at CLF Research during the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s.
That “lost Fender design” is the G&L Espada.
